Primula acaulis S1 'Accord Scarlet' — also known as English Primrose or Common Primrose — is a beloved early-spring perennial prized for its brilliant scarlet-red, lightly scented 1½-inch blooms. One of the most popular cool-season pot plants and spring border specimens in the country, English Primroses are found in flower borders, window boxes, and containers across the United States, where their vivid early color is especially welcome after winter. 'Accord Scarlet' looks spectacular planted under rhododendrons, azaleas, and camellias, or on the north side of the house where conditions are cool and sheltered. Deer resistant.

Growing Guide
Starting indoors: Sow in late fall or early winter in starter trays with a peaty starter mix. Press seeds into the surface — do not cover; light aids germination. Keep at 60–65°F; germination in 21–30 days.
Transplanting: After seedlings develop their second or third true leaves, transplant to a protected outdoor seedbed or individual pots. Plant out in late winter or early spring.
Site & soil: Partial shade (especially in the afternoon); humus-rich soil amended with plenty of organic matter and a slow-release fertilizer, pH 6.0–7.2. Space 8 inches apart.
Ongoing care: Keep consistently well-watered to extend the bloom season as long as possible. Primroses prefer cool, moist conditions and may go dormant in summer heat.
