Rich Color, Ruffled Texture, All-Season Impact

Tapestry is a versatile, sun-tolerant caladium that earns its name — its large, ruffled leaves are splashed with pink over deep red veins, creating a layered, tapestry-like effect that brings rich texture and color to any garden or container. Unlike many caladiums that prefer deep shade, Tapestry handles both sun and shade with ease, making it one of the most adaptable varieties you can grow.

Plant Highlights

  • Leaf type: Fancy leaf — large, ruffled
  • Colors: Pink splashes over deep red veins
  • Light: Sun tolerant — full sun to full shade
  • USDA Zones: 9–11 perennial; treat as annual in colder zones
  • Pack: 6 bulbs per order
  • Great for: Containers, borders, hanging baskets, mixed beds
  • Thrives in: Heat and humidity

How to Plant Caladium Bulbs

Plant tubers flat side down with eyes facing up, 1–1½ inches deep and 8–14 inches apart. Wait until soil temperature is consistently above 65°F before planting outdoors. For indoor or greenhouse growing, maintain temperatures above 70°F day and night and keep soil evenly moist. Generally finish in 8–10 weeks under good growing conditions.

Care Tips

  • Soil: Well-draining potting mix with high organic content
  • Water: Keep evenly moist at all times; avoid waterlogging
  • Light: Extremely adaptable — full sun to full shade
  • Fertilizer: Not necessary, but occasional liquid fertilizer during the growing season supports lush growth
  • De-eyeing tip: For fuller, bushier plants in containers, remove one or more primary sprouts before planting to encourage multiple shoots
  • Winter storage: In zones below 9, lift tubers before first frost and store in a cool, dry location

Six bulbs per order — enough to fill a large container or create a bold, colorful drift in a garden bed.
