Planting and care

Grow in full sun to partial shade with well-drained soil. Water after planting and as needed while roots establish. Avoid prolonged waterlogging. Established plants tolerate heat and dry conditions, but container plants still need regular moisture checks during warm weather.

Garden and container uses

Use as a foliage filler in mixed containers or hanging baskets, as a border accent, or near a stone wall. Space garden plants approximately 12 inches apart, allowing room for their spreading growth. Pair the silvery leaves with bright blooms for a textured display.

Seasonal care

Protect from freezing conditions. In colder climates, enjoy as a seasonal planting or move containers to a suitable sheltered location before winter.

Ornamental plant note

Despite its common name, this is an ornamental Helichrysum, not culinary licorice root. It is not sold as an edible herb or medicinal preparation.
