The seeds produce sprouts in 7-10 days, baby leaves in 25 days, and mature in 40-50 days. They are an heirloom annual that is Non-GMO and flourishes in warm weather. This nutrient-dense Mediterranean leafy green has been grown in kitchen gardens for centuries. It is slow to bolt in warm summers and simple to cultivate. The seeds have not been treated and can be grown in containers.. Organically grown for fresh salads. Avg. 19,100 seeds/oz. Packet: 500 seeds.

Arugula has a distinct texture that makes it a versatile addition to salads and as a garnish. It pairs well with bitter flavors and can be used like spinach or kale in cooking. Growing it at home has many benefits, including being environmentally friendly, having increased nutrient levels, and allowing control over growth methods. Arugula is packed with nutrients that promote overall health.

Using arugula as a topping on flatbread pizza is a delicious and enjoyable option. You can add it before or after cooking to bring a pleasant crunch to your meal.

Growing Arugula Seeds

Sow these seeds as early in the spring as the soil is workable, following the spacing provided. When seedlings are 2-3 inches tall, thin plants to 3-4 inches apart. These plants grow rapidly and steadily. Keep in mind that the leaf flavor gets more pungent with warm weather and less irrigation. To achieve optimum growth and flavor, sow seeds early while temperatures are still cool in loose, well-composted soil. Keep the soil evenly moist.

  • 1 oz -  Approximately 19,100 Seeds
  • 4 oz - Approximately 76,400 Seeds
  • 1 lb -  Approximately305,600 Seeds

Arugula seeds can be regularly sown every 2 weeks in the summer for a continuous crop. Partial shade during hot weather will help with production until frost. Microgreens can be grown indoors year-round with these seeds.

GROWING

This particular variety of arugula thrives in warm summer climates and is resistant to bolting. Bolting, which alters the texture and flavor of the leaves, occurs when a plant begins to produce seeds.

CONTAINERS : For optimal results, consider growing this type of vegetable in a container garden. Simply sprinkle a small amount of seeds in a pot and place them near your window or patio for convenient harvesting.

Arugula can be grown in the early summer season to fill up extra space while waiting for larger and more mature plants, such as pumpkins, to fully develop. This efficient use of space is beneficial for maximizing plant growth.

Harvesting

Harvest the arugula seeds, also known as rocket, in as little as 25 days for baby leaves or wait up to 45 days for larger leaves. You can choose to harvest the whole plant or pick individual leaves.
