Tulipa 'Red Van Eijk' is the quintessential red tulip — and it earns that status. As a Darwin Hybrid, it produces some of the largest, most structurally impressive blooms in the tulip world: big, cup-shaped flowers in a deep, saturated red that holds its color brilliantly in the garden and in the vase. The stems are tall and strong, the perennial performance is exceptional, and the impact of a mass planting in full bloom is simply hard to beat. If you want a red tulip that looks as good in April as it does in photos, Red Van Eijk is it.

Planting & Care
Plant in well-draining soil with the pointed tip facing up. Water thoroughly once after planting — roots establish through autumn, blooms arrive mid-spring. For the best perennial returns: plant 8–10 inches deep, apply a balanced fertilizer in spring, deadhead spent blooms, and allow foliage to die back naturally. Avoid watering while bulbs are summer-dormant. In Zone 8, pre-chill bulbs 8–12 weeks before planting.
