Attract birds with ease by planting Giant Brown-eyed Susan. Its silvery-blue foliage produces tall flower stalks, featuring intense yellow ray flowers hanging from tall brown centers. This coneflower is also perfect for creating beautiful floral arrangements.
To successfully cultivate Rudbeckia maxima, also known as Giant Brown-eyed Susan, choose a sunny location with well-drained soil and consistent moisture. This plant thrives in full sun and can reach impressive heights with large, yellow daisy-like flowers and a striking brown center cone. While relatively low maintenance and tolerant of drought, regular watering during hot periods will promote optimal blooming. For extended blooming and pollinator attraction, consider deadheading spent flowers. Propagation can also be done through division in either spring or fall.
