Heirloom Tomato Seeds: Giant, meaty, and resistant to disorders. Great for gardens, raised beds, and greenhouses. 77 days to maturity. Non-GMO, open-pollinated, and perfect for salads, juice, and canning.

Sowing: Start tomato seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last spring frost. Keep the temperature at 70-75 degrees F and provide adequate light until germination. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when the second set of leaves appears. Harden seedlings a week before planting outside. Plant seedlings in full sun and rich soil when soil temperature reaches 70 degrees F. Space plants 2' apart with trellis, 3-4' apart without. Avoid planting with cabbage or tomatoes, but companion plant with carrots or onions.

Growing: Support indeterminate tomato varieties with a trellis or support to protect against pests and diseases. Place supports before vines develop and tie them as they grow. Protect from temperatures below 55 degrees F and use mulch to conserve moisture and control weeds. Prune "suckers" for improved production and strength.

Harvesting: For perfectly ripe tomatoes, gently press the flesh, which should yield slightly. The color of the tomato also indicates ripeness. If the stem is difficult to remove, use scissors. Harvest all tomatoes before the first frost for optimal flavor.
