French Green Lentil Seeds for Sprouting and Growing
Grow these small green lentils for a dry harvest, or sprout them at home. The seeds are grown and hand-packed in the USA, and can be used for jar, tray or sack sprouting.
Approximate seed counts
- 1 oz pack: about 600 seeds
- 4 oz pack: about 2,400 seeds
- 1 lb pack: about 9,600 seeds
How to sprout
Soak seeds for 4–6 hours, then drain. Use a clean jar, tray or sprouting bag, and rinse and drain regularly. Sprouting time varies with growing conditions, so check the seeds as they germinate.
Growing information
Lentils are cool-season annuals. Sow in spring in a sunny spot with loose, well-drained soil. Plants grow through the cooler part of the season and finish as summer heat arrives. Harvest pods when they rattle, before they split open. Cut or pull the plants and dry them on a tarp for about a week, then thresh and winnow to collect the lentils.
In the kitchen
Use cooked lentils in soups and other savory dishes.
