Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium) - Grow Chinese wormwood seeds for a stunning addition to your herb garden. This aromatic herb has a rich medicinal history dating back to ancient Egypt, where it was used to rid the body of worms and aid in digestion. It is also known as Grand Wormwood and Absinthe Wormwood, and can be used as a natural moth repellant and pesticide.

This herb plant, known as Sweet Annie or Chinese wormwood, is both hardy and drought resistant. It is a versatile plant that can withstand cold temperatures and poor soils, while thriving in partial shade during the hottest part of the day. To ensure its healthy growth and avoid toxicity to other plants, it is best to give Sweet Annie plenty of space from other herbs in the garden or grow it in a container. Water only when the soil has dried out and trim back dead foliage each spring for renewed growth.

How To Grow Wormwood From Herb Seeds: To grow Chinese wormwood, start seeds indoors 10-12 weeks before transplanting. Press seeds into the soil and cover with plastic in a well-lit area, avoiding direct sunlight. Once seedlings appear, remove the plastic and transfer to a sunny window. Harden them for 10-14 days before transplanting. Harvest in mid-summer by picking upper stalks, tying and drying in a dark, well-ventilated place. Store dried stalks in an air-tight container.
