Statice - Nothing is more rewarding for the gardener than cutting some of the beautiful flowers in the garden and creating lovely floral arrangements for the indoors. Statice Mix is the perfect flower for cutting, and gardeners love it because it grows so nicely from Statice seeds.
Growing Limonium offers many rewards for the gardener and butterflies too! Limonium Statice is found naturally in arid and coastal areas, and it performs well in rock gardens and sunny borders. It is very useful for long-lasting cut flowers and dried arrangements. The white Statice flower will retain its color for years when dried.
Sow Statice seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before frost season ends. Press the Limonium seeds into the soil and lightly sprinkle with peat moss. The flower seeds must be kept moist but not wet until germination occurs. Or, you can directly sow Statice flower seeds into prepared seed beds after all danger of frost has passed. Sow the seeds in groups of 3 - 4 spaced 16 - 20 inches apart. Thin to the strongest Statice seedling. Once established, white Statice plants are fairly drought tolerant. They thrive in a hot, sunny location.
