Antirrhinum majus maximum 'Ruby Red' is a tall, bold snapdragon producing upright 36-inch spikes of rich ruby-red blooms from mid-spring through fall. One of the most popular and enduring annuals in North American gardens, tall snapdragons like Ruby Red are grown by the millions as florist cut flowers — and for good reason. The lower blossoms open first and progress up the spike, creating a long, elegant display. Light frost tolerant and deer resistant, this is a standout in cutting gardens, mixed borders, and cottage plantings.
500 seeds per packet.

Growing Guide
Starting indoors: Sow 6–8 weeks before transplanting. Surface-sow on pre-moistened quality starter mix and press seeds gently in — do not cover; seeds need light to germinate. Keep at 64–72°F; germination in 10–21 days. Harden off for 10–14 days before setting out. Pinch back at transplant time to encourage branching.
Mild-winter areas: Sow in a sheltered outdoor seedbed in late summer for winter and spring blooms.
Site & soil: Full sun; rich, moist, well-drained soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Adding organic matter at planting significantly improves performance.
Ongoing care: Trim plants back after the first flush of blooms for a quick second flush. Feed regularly. In very hot climates, afternoon shade extends the blooming period.
