The Aleppo Pepper, a type of Heirloom Capsicum Annuum, is often called Pul biber in Turkish. Its unique flake and powder texture, along with its open-pollinated  have made it a popular choice for its simple cultivation process.

This variety is commonly known for its delicious powder and flake in the United States with a raisin-like fruity flavor and a nice steady mild heat. This variety was originally grown in northern Syria and Southern Turkey. When this variety is fully ripe it is like eating mild spicy sweet sugar with hints of salt and cumin-like undertones.

Maximize growth in sunny locations by supplementing with LED lights during winter, gently shake or brush plant to promote pollination, and trim in fall to overwinter indoors with bright light.

When to move outside
Place plants outside where they will receive wind protection and a couple hours of sunlight. Gradually increase the amount of sunlight over a week or two. Bring them indoors if night temperatures drop below 55°F
