Silver Mound Artemesia is recommended for the following landscape applications:
• Rock/Alpine Gardens
• Mass Planting
• Border Edging
• Ground-cover
• General Garden Use
• Container Planting
Silver Mound’ Artemesia’s attractive deeply cut ferny compound leaves remain silver in color throughout the season. ‘Silver Mound’ is an herbaceous perennial that originates from Japan. It forms a low, mounded, clump of very finely divided silver foliage, hence the name silver mound, and has insignificant yellow flowers that appear in mid-summer. This is a relatively low maintenance perennial and should be cut back in late fall in preparation for winter. Deer don’t particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics. This is a very hardy perennial that is moderately drought tolerant and does best in sites with full sun and well-drained, light soil soils. It makes a nice addition to perennial borders. Flourishes in a dry, sunny climate and is grown primarily for its fine foliage. This is a useful border plant for color contrast and texture.
Planting Instructions:
May be planted in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2 inches below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly.
