Grow a beautiful, dense carpet of delicate flowers with Five Spot Nemophila Maculata wildflower seeds. This annual wildflower is hardy and fast-growing, with profuse blooms. After the first fall frost, it will die back, but it may re-seed in bare ground.

Flowers Seed - Five Spot - Wildflowers (Nemophila maculata) is an annual wildflower that thrives in USDA zones 3-9. It grows up to 12 inches tall and boasts stunning white flowers with vibrant purple spots, making it a standout display from spring to summer. Fast-growing and easy to establish from seed, it prefers partial sun and cool temperatures, and can tolerate various soil conditions, though it will die back when frost occurs. Suitable for hanging baskets, it may self-sow if flowers drop. To ensure optimal growth, sow seeds in spring and provide shelter from intense heat.

Sowing: Directly sow in early spring, lightly pressing into the soil's surface as this type of seed requires light for germination. Keep the soil moist until germination occurs within 10-20 days. Once the seedlings are sturdy enough, thin or transplant them for wider spacing. For an earlier start, start the Nemophila Maculata seed indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost and then transfer them outdoors.

Growing: Ensure the five spot Nemophila plants receive regular watering, as they do not tolerate overly dry soil and may wilt during times of drought. This fast-growing annual will die after the first frost, but may return in the following year through self-seeding. Its spreading nature makes it a great selection for large groupings, suspended containers, and borders. Keep in mind that this plant does not thrive in extreme heat and does not respond well to transplanting.
