  This daffodil captures attention both from a distance and nearby. Its ivory petal skirt beautifully frames Love Call’s bright orange, ruffled cup. Combining it with trumpet and double varieties creates an appealing mix of hues and flower forms. Ideal for patio pots and containers, this narcissus also enhances early-season color and diversity in garden beds and borders. Known as "Butterfly Daffodils," these blooms stand out with their center petals spread wide, resembling the wings of a butterfly rather than the usual trumpet shape.

• Appearance: This is a "split-corona" daffodil, a variety where the central cup is split for about half its length. The white, ruffled outer petals frame a brilliant tangerine-orange, frilly cup with marigold-yellow edges, which gives it a distinctive butterfly-like appearance.

• Growth: 'Love Call' is an easy-to-grow, mid-spring bloomer that is hardy in USDA zones 4 through 8. It thrives in full sun or partial shade.

Cut flowers: These are excellent for use as cut flowers, with a vase life of about seven days. However, like all daffodils, they release a sap that can shorten the life of other flowers in an arrangement. To avoid this, they must be conditioned separately for a few hours before being mixed with other types of flowers.

• When to plant: In the fall, after the soil has cooled but before the ground freezes.
• Sunlight: Full sun or partial shade.
• Planting depth: Plant bulbs 6 inches deep and 4–6 inches apart.
• Soil requirements: Well-drained soil. It tolerates acidic, clay, loamy, and sandy soil.
• Watering: Water regularly, allowing the soil to dry out slightly between waterings.
• Post-blooming care: After the blooms fade, let the foliage die back naturally. The leaves provide nutrients to the bulb for next year's blooms.
