This variety of Live Plants - Purira Pepper is both ornamental and edible, making it a great addition to any garden. The plant produces good yields of extremely hot peppers that turn from light yellow to orange, to red when ripe. With green stems, leaves, and white flowers, this open-pollinated and Organic Non-GMO variety from the USA is a great choice for any spice-loving gardener. Ready to harvest in just 70 days, this pepper is a great addition to your garden.
The Purira Pepper plant adds color to your garden or containers with its 2" long, upward-pointing peppers that ripen from pale yellow to purple striped, and finally to orange-red when fully ripe. These peppers are not only ornamental, but also edible - perfect for fresh, canned or dried use, and can even be made into a great powder. The plant grows up to 18-24", and produces 2" fruits with a SHU of 50,000. (Capsicum annuum)

Place plants outside where they will receive wind protection and a couple hours of sunlight. Gradually increase the amount of sunlight over a week or two. Bring them indoors if night temperatures drop below 55°F
Growing Hot Peppers in Containers
Peppers can be grown all year long in containers. It is suitable for apartment dwellers and gardeners who live in cool regions where the number of growing days are limited. Many pepper enthusiast grow peppers in pots so they can have fresh peppers all year long. It’s best to use 5 gallon containers so the roots do not get too over-crowded
Soil Requirements: Requires fertile soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply much and grass clippings, or straw around base of plant.
Water Requirements: Water well with soaker hoses during dry and hot spells.
Fertilizer Requirements: Use Slow Release Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Apply Miracle Gro every two weeks.
Harvest Tips:
Harvest hot peppers when they are fully mature using a garden scissor so you don't damage the plant. Pick peppers as they mature to encourage new buds to form.
