Lungwort 'Margery Fish' boasts fuzzy green leaves speckled in silver, transitioning from coral-pink to violet when it blooms. Deer-resistant and versatile, it adds color and variety to any garden.
Pulmonarias are versatile and attractive plants for the spring garden. They can be planted under trees and shrubs, mixed with other plants like Hostas and bulbs. Once established, they are hardy and can withstand some drought. Lungworts can serve as ground covers or specimen plants. To prevent seeding and maintain a neat appearance, cut off old flowering stems. They can also be grown under Daylilies and Peonies, or mixed with Ferns and Astilbe for a beautiful display. Individual plants will eventually form large clumps over time.
Planting Instructions: Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the root meets the stem) is about 1-2 inches below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly. Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in part shade to full shade. Prefer cool soils that are moist with some hummus. Must receive constant moisture and not be allowed to dry out, but is very intolerant of wet, poorly drained soils. Spreads very slowly by creeping roots. Divide plants in the fall.
