Sea moss is a nutrient-rich seaweed used in soups. It has a long history in Ireland and is found in various locations around the world. Sea moss is typically not eaten due to its tough and rubbery texture.

This Jamaican Sea Moss can be used as a vegan alternative to gelatin in various foods and beverages. It's a 100% natural thickening agent rich in carrageenan, making up 55% of its volume. Traditionally simmered, it can also be used raw in modern recipes.

Ingredients
  • To Boil:
  • 1.5 oz irish moss
  • 1.5 oz Linseed or Flax seeds
  • ½ gallon of water
  • Batch Per Blender  makes about 3-4 batches)
  • 2 cups of boiled moss mix
  • ¾ cups raw turbindado sugar
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ⅓ cup raw rolled oates
  • 1.5 tablespoon Raw Cashews
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ¾ teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon Keith Lorren’s Dessert Spice
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Ice
Instructions
  1. Rinse Irish moss well to remove salt, stones.
  2. in a large pot, add linseed, irish moss, water
  3. boil for 15 minutes on medium high and remove from heat
  4. allow pot to cool for 15 minutes
  5. **
  6. To make the drink, in a blender add all blender ingredients except ice
  7. blend until smooth and creamy
  8. Add ice and continue to blend until smooth and creamy (cools drink off)
  9. Serve and enjoy!
