Lablab purpureus 'Akhana Fujimame' is a drought-tolerant, warm-season annual with beautiful magenta flowers and flat, thick, and curved edible pods. It has a 90-100 day maturity and is widely grown in subtropical regions of South Asia and China. It can also be grown as an ornamental or ground cover.
Lablab flowers are fragrant, attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds, and produces edible parts. However, beware of poisonous dry seeds, which must be boiled for safe consumption.
