Our wide array of colorful Asiatic Hybrid Lilies flower in June and July. They reproduce very freely from year to year if planted in a spot with good, well-draining soil and good sunlight and if they are allowed to flower and die back naturally and if fertilized regularly. In addition to spectacular, colorful garden displays, Asiatic Lilies also make wonderful cut flowers so be sure to plant some in your cutting garden as well! Top size bulbs: at least 14/16 cm. Height: 3' to 4' (except for the Pixie varieties which are 10" to 14"). Bloom time: June/July. Plant 7" deep and 12" apart (for Pixies, plant 6" deep and 8" to 10" apart). Horticultural zones 4-8.
This lily is truly unique—simply the darkest lily you'll find. Distinctive plant produces the deepest velvety red, long-lasting flowers that are nearly black in appearance. Will return year after year to beautify beds, borders and bouquets. Plant with white lilies to create a truly incredible, diverse mix. Lilium asiatic Oriental lilies are known for their fragrant perfume, blooming mid-to-late summer. Stargazers are easy to grow and do best in full sunlight.
