Size: 1/4 lb Bulb
Plant your garlic approximately six to eight weeks prior to your area’s projected first fall frost date. It’s important to give the bulbs enough time to establish roots before the ground freezes.
  • Music (Porcelain, hardneck) Italian variety. Very cold tolerant and a good producer. White skin with a blush of pink and brown on cloves. Each bulb has 4 to 6 large, easy to peel cloves. Classic, spicy flavor, raw; rich and sweet, roasted.
Garlic growing has a long tradition throughout the country. All of our garlic, onion, and shallot varieties are untreated and ready to use in the kitchen or plant in the garden!
    Garlic Seed - Bulbs
    Planting
Garlic can be planted in the spring as soon as the ground can be worked, but fall planting is recommended for most gardeners. Plant in the fall and you'll find that your bulbs are bigger and more flavorful when you harvest the next summer.
In areas that get a hard frost, plant garlic 6 to 8 weeks before that frost. In southern areas, February or March is a better time to plant.
Break apart cloves from bulb a few days before planting, but keep the papery husk on each individual clove.
Plant cloves about one month before the ground freezes.
Ensure soil is well-drained with plenty of organic matter. Select a sunny spot.
Place cloves 4 inches apart and 2 inches deep, in their upright position (the wide root side facing down and pointed end facing up).

    Harvest/Storage
Harvest time depends on when you plant, but the clue is to look for yellow tops. Harvest when the tops begin to yellow and fall over, before they are completely dry.
In Northern climates, harvesting will probably be in late July or August. In Southern climates, it will depend on your planting date.
Check the bulb size and wrapper quality; you don't want the wrapper to disintegrate. Dig too early and the bulb will be immature. Discontinue watering.

Garlic bulbs and shallots

I was both surprised and disappointed.
I paid shipping for seeds and and additional shipping fee for garlic and shallots that were said to be shipped at a later date.
I received seeds, garlic bulbs and shallots sets all at same time and in the same package.
The Shallots had started green sprouts and garlic had small nubs sprouting inside the outer skin. Meaning that both needed to be immediately planted. This meant driving off to the store to by deep window boxes and mixing up a suitable planting soil using mostly garden soil that I brought inside last fall before the ground froze. This mix is not the same as that used to start seeds and mixing up a hugh quantity of suitable potting mix For the garlic and shallots was a painful inconvenience. I suffer severe back pain and injuries in both shoulders and usually have friends help mix up potting soil when it’s time to repot tomato and pepper seedling from cell packs into 1 gallon containers. This inconvenience has caused a delayed planting of my pepper and tomato seeds.
Next time I WILL NOT ORDER garlic, onion sets, shallots or any other kind of bulbs or sets from you as I don’t want to be rushed into planting them inside when I should be starting seeds. I have purchased such ‘Bulb’ items from other sources who ship at appropriate planting season and Upon delivery they are in a dormant condition. Had I been told that ‘bulbs’ would be shipped at same time, I could have been prepare to do what needed to be done upon receipt. I, also, am not pleased about paying an extra shipping fee for that which was not used as such.
Please don’t ask about my opinion of your seeds as, at this time, I have NOT planted any of them.

Outstanding product with Blazing Fast Shipping.

I purchased Seed Garlic from here as well as 6 other online locations. I received 30 pounds of top tier seed garlic that made the other seed garlic I purchased look like 2nd, 3rd, or even worse offerings. Caribbeangardenseed speed of service and quality of seed garlic would be hard to top elsewhere.

Nice size bulbs

Bulbs were nice in size for planting. I just hope they keep in the refrigerator until fall for the correct planting time. These garlic bulbs (hardneck) should have been sent in the fall, not spring. I did email about this but it didn’t seem to matter, they came in spring anyway.
