Growing Guide
Starting indoors (recommended): Sow 10โ12 weeks before the last frost. Fill 2-inch pots or cell trays ยพ full with potting soil; mist to moisten. Sprinkle 3โ6 seeds per pot on the surface โ do not cover; seeds need light to germinate. Cover with plastic wrap and place under a grow light (avoid windows โ they fluctuate too much in temperature and light). Check daily; mist if soil dries out.
Germination to transplant: Once shoots are 2โ3 inches tall, remove plastic. Harden off over 2 weeks by increasing outdoor time and sun exposure gradually. Transplant after all frost danger has passed. Trailing lobelia excels in hanging pots.
Site and soil: Full sun to partial shade; well-drained, consistently moist soil. Do not allow to dry out completely. Regular watering and occasional feeding will keep plants vigorous all season.
