Plant them 3 inches deep and 2 inches apart in the fall, and watch as they naturalize easily through bulb offsets and self-seeding to create a carpet of early spring blooms. The foliage fades shortly after blooming and disappears by late spring as the plants go into dormancy.

How to Grow Chionodoxa Bulbs:

2. Plant the bulbs with the roots pointing down and the spike pointing up, following the rule of thumb of giving them at least 2 times their height of soil above them.
3. For planting in beds, leave approximately 3 inches between each cluster of bulbs. For containers, they can be spaced closer together.
4. After planting, water well to settle the soil above the bulbs.
5. Chionodoxa bulbs will flower in the spring. After the flowers die down, the plant can enjoy a warmer rest period with minimal watering.
6. The leaves will also die back, and you can choose to tidy up the plant or let nature take its course.
