These flowers have star-shaped white petals (tepals) with yellow anthers and a central black bead-like ovary. The plant also has dark green grass-like foliage. Another variety of this plant, known as Ornithogalum umbellatum, is commonly called the Star of Bethlehem and blooms during winter.
