Monte Orange Double Early Tulip Bulbs

Bring warm spring color to beds, borders, containers, and cutting gardens with Monte Orange tulips. This double early variety produces layered, peony-like orange blooms on upright stems and pairs beautifully with white, blue, purple, or other spring-flowering bulbs.

Bulb Details

  • Botanical group: Tulipa
  • Variety: Monte Orange
  • Type: Double early tulip
  • Product: Bulbs for planting
  • Planting season: Fall
  • Uses: Beds, borders, containers, mass plantings, and cut-flower gardens

Planting

Plant in fall after the soil has cooled and before it freezes. Choose a sunny to lightly shaded location with well-drained soil. Set each bulb with the pointed end facing upward and cover it according to local bulb-planting guidance for your climate and soil. Space bulbs closely enough for a full display without letting them touch.

For containers, use a pot with drainage holes and a free-draining potting mix. Bulbs require a sustained cold period to initiate spring growth, so gardeners in warm climates may need to follow locally appropriate pre-chilling and planting practices.

Care

Water after planting to settle the soil. During active growth, water when needed while avoiding persistently soggy conditions. After flowering, remove spent blooms if desired but leave the foliage in place until it yellows naturally. The leaves help replenish the bulb before dormancy.

Garden Design

Plant in informal groups for a fuller display, combine with other early spring bulbs, or dedicate a section to cutting. Bloom timing, stem length, flower size, and return in later seasons vary with climate, winter chilling, soil, and care.

Choose a package of 10, 25, or 100 bulbs.
