The World’s Most Beloved Mint — Fresh, Fragrant & Organic

Moroccan Mint (Mentha spicata var. crispa) is the classic mint of Moroccan tea culture — prized worldwide for its intensely sweet, spearmint-forward aroma and refreshingly clean flavor. Sweeter and more refined than common spearmint, it is the definitive choice for authentic Moroccan mint tea, mojitos, tabbouleh, and Middle Eastern cooking. Ships as certified organic live starter plants, ready to grow — fresh, chemical-free mint at your fingertips all season long.

Why Choose Moroccan Mint?

  • Exceptionally fragrant — sweeter and more refined than common spearmint; the authentic choice for Moroccan tea and Middle Eastern cuisine
  • Prolific harvests — fast-growing and abundantly leafy; the more you harvest, the bushier it gets
  • Certified organic — free from synthetic pesticides and chemicals; safe for teas, culinary use, and around children and pets
  • Versatile in the kitchen — use fresh or dried in teas, salads, desserts, cocktails, sauces, and savory dishes
  • Container-friendly — grows beautifully in pots; ideal for patios, balconies, and kitchen windowsills
  • Ships as live plants — established starter plants, not seeds; ready to harvest sooner

Culinary Uses

  • Traditional Moroccan mint tea (atay) — the essential ingredient
  • Mojitos, juleps, and mint-forward cocktails and mocktails
  • Tabbouleh, fattoush, and Middle Eastern grain salads
  • Mint sauces, chutneys, and yogurt dips
  • Desserts, fruit salads, sorbets, and chocolates
  • Dried for herbal teas and potpourri

Growing Guide

  • Light: Full sun to light shade — at least 4–6 hours of sun for the most fragrant, flavorful leaves.
  • Soil: Average to rich, moist, well-draining soil. Amend with compost for best results.
  • Water: Keep consistently moist but avoid waterlogged soil. Mint wilts quickly when dry but recovers fast with water.
  • Spreading: Mint spreads vigorously by underground runners — growing in a container is the easiest way to keep it contained in the garden. Alternatively, sink a pot into the ground to restrict spread.
  • Harvesting: Begin harvesting stems once the plant is established. Cut stems regularly to encourage dense, bushy growth and delay flowering. Harvest before flowering for best flavor.
  • Overwintering: Hardy in Zones 5–11. In colder zones, mulch heavily in late fall or bring containers indoors. Plants die back in winter and resprout vigorously in spring.
