LobeliaĀ (Lobelia ErinusĀ White Lady)Ā - Grown from Lobelia seeds, this white variety makes a stunning display on its own or when grown with other Lobelia flower colors. This Lobelia ground cover has upright compact growth with masses of white flowers against green foliage. Lobelia White Lady is excellent for containers, in the foreground of flower beds, edging borders, hanging baskets and rock gardens. It will bloom all summer long, and it makes a wonderful, eye-appealing ground cover. White Lady Lobelia has mainly white flowers with a small percent being blue.
Growing Lobelia Erinus from seed is very rewarding! If starting Lobelia seed outdoors, it will not begin to flower for two months after seed is planted. For quicker flowering, start the ground cover seeds indoors 10 - 12 weeks before the last frost is due. Since the Lobelia seeds are very small, plant them on top of finely prepared soil without covering them. Transplant Lobelia seedlings after all danger of frost is passed, spacing them 6 inches apart. Remove flower spikes after blooming to produce further growth.
