Scaevola-PINK is an evergreen shrub that originated from Australia and can thrive in zones 9-11. It is known for its high tolerance to heat and love for sunlight, making it a popular choice for flower enthusiasts. With its vibrant flowers arranged in a circular pattern, it is ideal for small containers, hanging baskets, and adding a pop of color to mixed planters. Consider adding Scaevola to your summer collection for a late blooming addition to your garden center.
Position in bright indoor light, not full midday sun. For best results, use 3-5 starter plants per 10” basket with well-drained soil and plant deep enough to cover the ellepot. For 4” pots, one plant should be enough if given enough time. Pinch after transplantation, with a possible second pinch based on pot size and shape
Water: Keep the soil consistently moist in the summer months. Avoid allowing the plant to dry out, as this may lead to leaf drop. For the winter, if planning to keep the plant, reduce watering and maintain a minimum temperature of 55 F. Fertilizer: Weekly, use a diluted liquid fertilizer with micronutrients to promote blooming. These plants require frequent fertilization and will benefit from generous amounts. Soil: The ideal potting soil should be light and well-draining. Fortified soils can also be used.
