Gorgeous color & a very corrugated texture!

Hosta ‘Frances Williams’ has HUGE, very wide, powdery blue-green leaves with chartreuse to yellow margins, which become wider as the plant matures. A large Hosta, ‘Frances Williams’ has some of the showiest foliage ever, which is perhaps why it is a favorite shade plant among professional landscapers. It reigns supreme as one of the most popular Hostas around. The leaves measure over 10 inches long.

This bold, rugged foliage seems nearly indestructible with a leathery, very corrugated texture, and it also demonstrates high slug resistance! ‘Frances Williams’ remains attractive well into late summer in the shade garden and has near white flowers on tall 30″ scapes that bloom in mid-summer. With a plant height of 24″ and a spread of 48-60″, this Hosta provides bright color in shade with wonderful foliage. To much sun will cause leaf scorching with this one. It is also good for planting in mixed containers or tubs.

Hosta will go completely dormant in the fall, and the dying foliage can be removed any time before mid-spring. Easily divided in either spring or fall, but plants may be left alone for years.

Watering: Allow pots to dry slightly between watering, especially until growth appears.

Fertilizer: Hostas are light to moderate feeders. It is best to incorporate a slow release fertilizer in the soil prior to transplanting. If topdressing is desired, apply to the top of the soil after potting. If foliage is present, careful application must not allow fertilizer to become trapped in the leaf petioles, otherwise some leaf burning may
