Alyssum Seeds, "Easter Bonnet Peach" Excellent edging plant, intense flowers
100 SEEDS PER PACK
Compact plants are covered with elegant flowers dipped in various shades of peach parfait, frilled and scented to attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Landscapers love Easter Bonnet, tucking it into borders, rock gardens, edges and walkways. Plants establish quickly and bloom continuously. Suitable for all zones, although in the hottest climates growth will halt in the summer and resume in the fall. Stays tidy longer than other Alyssums. Annual. 4-10"
Offering a full colour range, Easter Bonnet combines uniformity of habit and colour with unsurpassed earliness.
Covered with dainty, fragrant flowers, plants stay compact and tidy much longer than other alyssums, making these excellent edging plants.
A native of southern Europe, Sweet Alyssum has adapted to all areas of the USA and is commonly referred to as a carpet of snow flowers. It is best to sow this flower seed in early spring after the last "killing" frost to protect tender seedlings. While this variety has pink blooms, there are other varieties available in white or purple. See out list of individual species in the right column.
Sweet Alyssum is drought tolerant, heat tolerant, grows rapidly producing an endless display of fragrant blooms. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in almost any type of soil and is often found, growing wild, on roadsides, sandy and rocky areas, and waste areas. Thus Sweet Alyssum can be considered a landscaping garden flower or a wildflower!
