The darkest jalapeño we offer. Fruits avg. 3 1/2–3 3/4" and exhibit "checking" (small cracks in the skin) that indicates the fruits are ready for harvest. They may also be harvested before checking, but the harvest window is short prior to checking. The productive, medium-size plants have a high yield potential.

Pepper Description: This neat jalapeno begins dark as night and ripens into a smooth red. Plants are small but produce heavily. We picked these all of the way until frost. Very beautiful plants, classic jalapeno flavor.

Plants grow and yield well in many conditions: hot, cool, humid, or dry. These peppers also adapt well to growing in containers. Take care to locate jalapeo peppers away from any TAM Mild jalapeno peppers you may grow to avoid harvest mix-ups.
Plant spacing: 18 inches apart in rows 30 inches apart; 12 to 18 inches in intensive gardens. One plant per 18-inch container. Plants per person: 1 to 2 for fresh use; 3 to 4 for drying, freezing, or making jelly.
