aka siberian bugloss ,

Who can dispute the claim that this is one of the most spectacular deer resistant perennials for temperate gardens? The heart-shaped medium green leaves are bordered with a very wide creamy-white stripe. As temperatures rise, the color of the edge changes to cream, then pale yellow, giving it more vigor than B. m. 'Variegata'. Although a number of plants have been incorrectly offered under this name, this is the true item. In spring, the plant is smothered in tiny pure blue flowers. Keep this plant moist and out of direct sun!

Siberian Bugloss

USDA Zone: 2-9
A superb specimen perennial, forming a clump of heart-shaped leaves boldly splashed with creamy-white and green, the edges later turning ivory and finally soft yellow. Sprays of bright blue Forget-me-not flowers appear in mid to late spring. This is a choice collector’s plant, much in demand, but with limited supply. Excellent for the woodland garden. Keep out of direct sun, as the white leaf edges will scorch easily. Plants may be divided carefully in early fall, but very small pieces have a tendency to revert to plain green.
