Merlin Beets Seed is a reliable and high-yielding variety, providing up to 18 tons per hectare. It is resistant to bolting and powdery mildew, and produces smooth, deep-red roots. These seeds are ideal for farmers looking to maximize yield and produce a consistent product.

Planting Tips: The beet is a hardy biennial (producing seed in its second year). Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked. Optimal germination temperature is 55-75°F, but will germinate in temperatures as low as 45°F. Seeding rate: 10 seeds/ft.; plant spacing: thin to 2-3"; row spacing: 12-18". Thinned seedlings may be used as greens or baby beets. Transplants can be started indoors or in a cold frame 4-6 weeks before planting date. Prefers loamy soils with a pH over 6.0 and cool temps. Harvest at desired size.
