This plant Malacocarpus crithmifolius a delightful beautiful edible fruit .

Like gooseberries that’s grow in swing climates hot/dry summers/ terrible cold winters!

It is best adapted to climates with hot, dry summers and bitterly cold winters. Even though much sought after by fruit enthusiasts it not known in cultivation except perhaps for a few collections. Seeds may benefit from cold stratification after sowing.

An evergreen, very rare and beautiful, trailing or creeping dwarf shrub with much branched stems and deeply lobed, thin, succulent leaves. The inconspicuous, yellowish green flowers are followed by globose, bright red fruits, about 1 cm in diameter. The fruits are edible, sweet and delicious. Malacocarpus crithmifolius is widely distributed from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Iran to Afghanistan but known only from small populations on gravelly, rocky slopes, often on gypsum soils.
