Tamarillo.  a.k.a.Tree Tomato Organic, NON-GMO Seeds

Tamarillo, also called tree tomato, is a unique plant from the Andes region. It is widely grown in countries like Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Bolivia.Tamarillo trees are fast-growing, reaching peak production in 4 years and up to 12 ft in height. They have a single upright trunk, lateral branches, and clusters of pink-white flowers.

Tamarillo thrives in hot USDA Zones 10–11 climates. It is a hardy shrub or tree that can be planted directly in the ground or in a pot. Choose a location that receives around six to eight hours of direct sunlight. Tree tomato also benefit from partial shade, particularly in the afternoon, in the hottest regionsSoilAny well drained site with good moisture content and high in organic matter.

Tamarillo trees bloom in early spring, producing fragrant pink flowers. These blooms will eventually give way to small, oval or egg-shaped fruit, reminiscent of plum tomatoes—hence the tomato tree’s name. While the fruits of growing tree tomatoes are edible and vary between trees, they are much more bitter tasting than your average tomato. Grown best in sunny, well-drained fertile soil.

Tamarillos can grow almost anywhere with proper care. They are perfect for indoor containers but need space, light, and humidity. With high levels of vitamins and iron, Tamarillos are known for their nutrition and low calorie content. This fruit is great for gardens, orchards, and containers worldwide.
Planting
Choose a sheltered position with protection from strong winds and hard frosts. Incorporate blood and bone at planting.
Fertilizer
Apply three applications of low nitrogen NPK fertiliser during the growing season. One before pruning, second one month later and the third in February to help fruit development.
Pruning
Once your plant reaches 1 metre tall take the tip out to encourage branching and stopping the plant growing too tall so you can not reach the fruit. Frosts will naturally prune your tree. After the frost, remove old and dead wood. In areas of no frosts you will need to manually prune back growth to prevent over crowding. Always remember fruit is formed on the new spring growth, therefore a hard prune will maintain desired shape, size and maximize next seasons fruit.
