Growing from Seed

Germination — indoor method: Place soaked seeds on a damp paper towel in a sealed container, or sow directly into moist compost in a small pot or seedling tray. Cover seeds approximately 1 cm (just under ½ inch) deep. Place in a warm, sunny spot. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Germination typically occurs in 1–3 weeks.

Germination — outdoor method: Once soil reaches 60°F after last frost, sow directly into a prepared seedbed outdoors. Loosen soil and incorporate organic matter before sowing. Mulch lightly to retain moisture.

Seedling care: Maintain consistent moisture; ensure good air circulation to prevent damping off. Use fresh, clean seed-starting medium. Avoid overwatering.
