Planting Instructions

• Plant in a full sun to partial shade, well-drained location. Bearded iris are rhizomes, not bulbs.
• Plant with the rhizome top exposed — roots face downward. In very light soils or hot climates, covering with 1" of soil is acceptable.
• Space approximately 18" apart for mass plantings.
• Does best in average to evenly moist, well-draining soil. Will not tolerate standing water.
• Somewhat tolerant of urban pollution and varied soil types.

• Flower stalks may benefit from staking in exposed or very fertile sites.
