Plant Giant Noble Spinach seeds, a high-quality, organic variety of annual vegetables that can be planted in both spring and fall. These open pollinated seeds offer a short growing period of only 43 days, producing smooth and dark green leaves with a delicious flavor. The plants are highly robust and resistant to bolting, making it possible to enjoy harvesting over a longer period of time.
1-oz. package contains approximately 2,500 seeds and can successfully sow a 100-ft. row. The term "heirloom seed" refers to seeds that have been cultivated for generations.
Sowing: Plant Giant Noble spinach seeds in spring or fall, spacing them 2" apart in rows 12-18" apart. In warmer regions, spinach can be grown all winter. For a continuous crop, plant every 10 days until summer heat, as spinach goes dormant above 80-85 degrees F. Plant under tall plants for shade.
Growing: To prevent damage to the roots, apply mulch when weeding spinach. Maintain a balanced level of moisture in the soil, avoiding excessive wetness. Providing shade may help in temperatures above 80 degrees F to avoid bolting.
Harvesting: Begin harvesting the spinach leaves as soon as they grow big enough for eating. If only individual leaves are being harvested, take the larger ones on the outside of the plant. Otherwise, harvest the entire plant by cutting it off at ground level; new leaves will grow. If the plant bolts and sends up a flower stalk, the leaves will be much stronger in flavor but can still be used.
