vibrant red colored blooms that are very well suited to production of cut flowers. Does great in high heat temperatures of greenhouses. Dense plantings of Chief produce strong stems and high quality cut flowers. Also known as cockscomb and crested cock's comb.
Celosia also referred to as Celosia plumosa, Plumed Cockscomb, or Silver Cockscomb, is a type of Celosia argentea, a yearly plant found in Nigeria, Madagascar, and Tanzania. The name "Celosia," derived from the Greek word for "burning," is fitting with its strikingly colored plumes. Takii Seed specifically created the Castle variety to withstand high temperatures and lack of water, while still showcasing stunning hues.
This plant offers an upright habit 16-20" tall, with long-lasting, bright flowers from spring until frost. Any cottage, rustic, or tropical flower garden will benefit from Castle Mix's long season of showy color and texture. Bring color and texture to landscape beds, borders, and containers with this low-maintenance plant. Long-lasting as a cut or dried flower, Celosia is an obvious choice for cut-flower gardens. Castle Mix flourishes with little more than full sun and regular water. We combines all four stunning colors for exceptional combinations.
