Sulphur Cosmos 'Crest Gold' is adaptable, grows 2-3 feet tall, and attracts bees. It is suitable for cutting, beds & borders, and pollinator gardens. Great for poor soils. Also good for mass plantings and low-growing mixes.
Grow dwarf or compact cosmos plants in containers for abundant flowers all summer and fall. Learn how to easily cultivate them in pots for cut or dried arrangements, or for simple potted enjoyment.
To grow Cosmos in a pot, choose a 12-inch diameter pot with drainage holes and add gravel for stability. Scatter seeds thinly over potting soil and cover with 1/3 to 1/2 inch of additional soil. When seedlings are 4 inches tall, thin by clipping unwanted ones.

Directly sow Cosmos Mexican Aster flower seeds into prepared seed beds after danger of frost has passed. Sow the Cosmos flower seeds in rows, 18 inches apart. Sow 6 seeds per foot. Lightly cover Cosmos seeds with 1/16 inch of soil. Keep flower seeds moist. Thin to strongest plant 12 inches apart. Or, if you're not into measurements, Cosmos flower seeds can be scattered onto the prepared soil. Lightly rake the soil over the Cosmos seeds at a depth of 1/16 inch. Keep the Cosmos flower seed moist until germination. They perform well even when crowded.
