The True Red Cranberry Bean is an heirloom, specifically a Pole Bean. It is easy to plant and does not require excessive care or attention. This bean is a great source of protein, with high amounts of it. It is perfect for use in a variety of dishes, such as salads, soups, stews, spreads, hummus, and dips.

This Pole Bean is an ancient American variety, traditionally used by Abnaki Indians and woodsmen in the northeastern US. Its deep red color and plump, shiny appearance resemble ripe cranberries. It has a 95-day growing period.

Culture: Moderate fertility needs, avoid excessive nitrogen. Tender in hot weather, plant 3-4 seeds/ft. in 24-30" rows, pick frequently without disturbing foliage in wet weather. Pick dark-seeded beans, optimal germination soil temperature 60°-80°, emergence in 16 or 8 days depending on temperature. 97% normal seedlings at 77°, 47% at 86°.
