Planting Instructions
- Plant in a full sun, well-drained location. Bearded iris are rhizomes, not bulbs.
- Plant with the rhizome top exposed — roots face downward. In very light soils or hot climates, covering with 1" of soil is acceptable.
- Space approximately 18" apart for mass plantings.
- Firm soil around each rhizome and water well to settle.
Care Tips
- Cut back foliage in late fall in preparation for winter.
- Fertilize in early spring and again in late summer.
- Divide clumps every 3–4 years (August) to maintain vigor and blooming.
- Drought tolerant once established — great for low-rainfall climates.
