Sow December to March or April to May for July to August plants. Shade from direct sunlight, maintain high humidity. Plants need at least 20°C and more than 12 hours of daylight. Use a rich, well-drained soil in partially shaded garden.
Begonias should receive direct sunlight only in the morning. They are typically grown in containers indoors or in areas with warm winters and comfortable summers. Reduce watering in autumn to induce winter dormancy and store tubers in cold climates. Replant when frost danger has passed and soil is warm.
