Sowing: Plant Bull's Blood beet seeds in full sun, 1" deep and 1" apart in well-drained soil. Water and tamp down soil above seeds for germination in 5-15 days. Consider companion planting with bush beans, onions, or cabbage, avoiding pole beans.

Growing: To maximize growth, thin seedlings to 3" apart, and relocate the uprooted plants for a second crop. Handle seedlings carefully when weeding as they thrive in cooler temperatures and are resilient to 25F.

Harvesting:For the best taste and tenderness, harvest Beets when they are 1"-3" in diameter. Twist off the tops about 1" up the stem after pulling to prevent bleeding. Bull's Blood beets have tasty reddish purple tops that mature in just 40 days. You can harvest one-third of the tops without damaging the plant.
