This variety of bunching onion, Allium fistulosum Ishikura Improved, matures in 60 days and is an annual, non-GMO heirloom. With white shanks reaching up to 20-24", this medium early Japanese type has 6 or 7 deep green, thick leaves at maturity. Unlike other onions, it does not form bulbs nor multiply by division. Its adaptability to different temperatures makes it suitable for winter harvesting in certain regions. Approximately 7,000 seeds / oz.

This is a traditional Japanese type bunching onion. At maturity, the stalk has white stems up to 20" long with 6" green leaves. The stems can grow to 1" in diameter. Be sure to eat the thinnings,as they are mild and delicious fresh.
