The Flame Lily, also known as Gloriosa Rothschildiana, a.k.a Glory Lily, Fire Lily, and Creeping Lily, features vibrant yellow and ruby flowers with elegant, wavy, and swept-back petals.

Golden yellow variety of Gloriosa Lily Lutea, also known as Climbing Lily or Flame Lily. A vining plant with unique tentacle-like leaves that can grow up to 5 feet high with support.Produces 3-9 blossoms/plant, needs 6 daily sunshine hours for optimal blooms. Fairly drought tolerant, pest-free. Hardy to zones 8-9, dies in cold but returns in spring. Germination may take 6 months.

HOW TO GROW THE GLORY LILY (Gloriosa superba) FROM SEED
Start growing Creeping lily Flowers by sowing seeds in February-April. Use moist soil and keep at 20-30 Celsius. Lightly cover the seeds with compost/vermiculite, keep moist, and provide support for the climbing shoots. Germination takes 30-40 days. Transplant to 3 inch pots when seedlings are ready.
In autumn, the Glory Lily's stems die back to a tuber that develops during the growing season. Dry the tuber slowly and store in a frost-free place. In early spring, repot in 13cm (5in) pots and continue repotting as needed. Grow in a greenhouse or conservatory.
During the growing season the Glory lily should be watered thoroughly, but again will need to be allowed to dry out almost completely before re-watering – never leave them waterlogged or standing in water as this can encourage rots. When growing begins in the spring they should be given a liquid feed once a week to encourage new growth. Later on in the season a half strength fertilizer added to the water every two weeks will keep plants blooming strongly throughout the summer and sometimes further into early autumn.
