Seed Pack Options

Choose 30, 100, or 500 seeds. This listing is for seeds, not live herb plants.

Starting Your Seeds

Use a fine seed-starting mix in clean pots or trays with drainage holes. Sow sparingly and gently press the tiny seeds onto the surface rather than burying them deeply. Keep the mix consistently moist, not wet, with a gentle mist or careful watering that will not wash the seeds away.

Maintain approximately 68°F (20°C) during germination. Once seedlings emerge, provide plenty of light and slightly cooler conditions. Germination timing varies with seed and growing conditions.

Transplanting and Care

Allow seedlings to become sturdy before moving them into individual pots. Gradually acclimate them to outdoor sun and wind before planting out after frost danger has passed. Choose a sunny position and a well-draining growing medium.

Water gently during establishment. Once plants are growing well, avoid keeping the roots constantly wet. Check containers regularly and empty standing water from saucers.

Botanical Identification Note

Spanish thyme is a common name used for more than one plant. The previous listing included both Thymus zygis and Thymus mastichina. Confirm the botanical name on the seed packet or with the supplier before relying on species-specific culinary, hardiness, or other guidance. Do not use these seeds or plants for medicinal purposes.
