Soursop Tree Seeds,Annona muricata, Rare Tropical Plant Tree
SOURSOP - a.k.a. Guanabana, Graviola
A well-known fruit throughout much of the world, the soursop's delicious white pulp, with tones of fruit candy and smooth cream is commonplace in tropical markets, but is rarely found fresh anywhere else. Inside its thin, leathery, green flesh is a large mass of creamy pulp.
Easily grow a soursop tree for delicious drinks, sweets, and more. Native to Central America, the Annona muricata tree grows up to 30 feet and produces oval-shaped fruits with yellow-green skin and white flesh.
Soursop seeds require a tropical climate and should be grown in USDA hardiness zones 10 and 11, with well-drained soil and a pH of 5 to 6.5. Prepare a warm and shaded indoor spot for germination.
Sow soursop seeds in peat pots with damp soil. Germination takes 15-30 days. Choose a sunny, sheltered location in the garden and mix in 2 inches of compost.
Transplant 12-inch seedlings 12 feet apart in spring. Dig large holes for plants. Add mulch and water frequently in hot weather, but not in winter to avoid pests. Fertilize with 10-10-10 at intervals of one-half pound in the first year and increase in subsequent years.
Reapply mulch to the trees each year, widening the application area to 5 feet as the tree's root system grows
