Culinary tips:
Asian turnips are mainly eaten when very young and are delicious raw with a dressing. The roots and young green tops can be sautéed, pickled or added to stew, curry and soup.

- Hidabeni turnip is a Japanese vegetable, with a flattened semi-globe shaped root. - The white flesh is mild and has a good texture. - These turnips have a deep red skin, are 10cm in diameter, and 5cm in height. - They can be harvested in just 50 days and are suitable for pickling and salads. - This improved variety can be grown from spring to fall in various climates. - Easy to grow.
Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds in spring or late summer/early fall in a sunny location. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Cool temperatures improve the quality and flavor of turnips. Harvest when about 4" in diameter.
