The Jelly Melon Cucumber Seeds, Cucumis sativu, produce organic, fresh, thorny oval fruits that are both edible and decorative. Their green-gold gel-filled fruits have a unique flavor reminiscent of citrus or pomegranate.120 days

Native to semiarid Africa near the Kalahari Desert, Jelly Melon, also called Kiwano or African Horned Cucumber, is a thorny oval fruit bursting with seeds and greenish-gold gel, with a flavor profile reminiscent of pomegranate and citrus and a high vitamin C content. While it may be botanically different from true cucumbers, it can still be used as a decorative fruit or garnish.

Instructions - Sow seeds outdoors in 12" diameter hills after the last frost when soil is warm. Space hills 6' apart in all directions. Can also be started indoors 2-4 weeks before the last frost for an earlier harvest. Provide support for vines to save space.
